Transparent pricing that makes sense and provides our customers with the value they deserve.

OUR RATES EXPLAINED

We charge $1.50 per Km PLUS $30 per hour. Charged from arrival at pickup address until unloaded, packed up and ready to be paid at delivery address. Km rate calculated according to Google Maps suggested route from pick up address to delivery address. We do it this way rather than on actual Km travelled so we can quote in advance. Hourly rate is charged at a minimum of one hour and then in 15 minute blocks rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes for jobs that take longer than one hour.

Examples;

#1, Richards Rd Melton South to Kirkton Drive Kurunjang.

Distance is 5Km at $1.50 per Km so $7.50. Hourly rate is a minimum one hour so $30. Therefore the total price would be $37.50 provided the job can be completed within an hour. That’s almost $20 cheaper than renting a trailer!

#2, Richards Rd Melton South to Bushy Park Ave Caroline Springs.

Distance is 19.6 Km so $29.40 plus a minimum hourly charge of one hour which is $30 so a total of $59.40. Try to get these rates from those alleged low cost removals.

We are sure you get the idea.

EXTRAS

There are no hidden charges. The only extras we may charge for are as follows.

1. If the load contains an item or items that are a two man lift and the customer is not able to provide assistance with loading or unloading we may need to provide a second team member for this purpose. In these situations we need to charge an additional $25 per hour. This is only done with the agreement of the customer. i.e. we don’t just decide to bring an extra team member and then charge you for it.

2. As explained in our terms, if a job doesn’t start in, end in or pass through Melton we may still agree to take the job on if the customer is prepared to pay a little extra on top of the normal cost of the job to cover the dead miles we would need to cover to travel out from and back to our base of Melton. This charge is calculated on distance and would be quoted up front during your enquiry.

3. The customer is responsible for incidental costs and disbursements such as tolls, ferry fares and overnight accomodation.

Payment options

Translocal has partnered with secure payment provider Square to give you more convenient options.

Mobile EFTPOS

Our drivers are equipped with mobile Electronic Funds Transfer Point of Sale (EFTPOS) terminals which means you can pay securely at the delivery point with your credit or debit card (or smart phone) just as you would in a store. We use Square to process card payments securely.

Tap and go, Apple & Google Pay

Yes our Square terminals also support tap and go touch payments with your card and Apple Pay and Google Pay through your smart phone.

Electronic invoicing

If need be or if you want to go completely contactless we can email you an invoice which you can pay securely online from the comfort of your own computer or smart phone.

Cash

Of course you can still pay with cash if that works best for you. We can arrange to have a receipt sent to you if required.

Why should I use Translocal and not just hire a trailer or a ute?

Because for shorter more local jobs we are usually less expensive than trailer or ute hire but even when we are not, you don't have the hassle of picking up and returning the trailer or ute. Plus you have our help to get the job done.

Do you only operate in Melton or do you service other areas?

We used to say that a job would need to start in, end in or pass through Melton but we will go outside our operating area if the customer is prepared to pay a little extra to cover the dead (unpaid) miles we would need to travel. The best way to find out is ask.

If I buy an item say, in the Facebook marketplace and hire Translocal to deliver it, can I get you to pay for the item and fix you up when you deliver?

Not yet! For the moment the purchase of the item is between you and the seller, we only deal with delivery. But we might have something in the pipeline. Watch this space.

What payment methods do you have?

Our drivers are equipped with mobile EFTPOS terminals which means you can pay using your credit or debit card or even with your mobile phone if you use Apple Pay or Google Pay. We also have the ability to send you an invoice by email which you can pay securely online from the comfort of your own computer or smart phone and of course we also accept cash.
